High school in California

Find your California school story.

California is more than one school experience. Start with the campuses within Anaheim Union High School District. Compare creative subjects, academic goals and daily routines, then review selected public and private options elsewhere in California. The particular school and the housing arrangement matter as much as the state.

Start with the school day you want.

Make room for creative interests

The Anaheim program flyer includes dance, theatre, visual arts and digital arts. Ask how your interests fit the courses available at your particular campus.

Look beyond the district name

The Anaheim program flyer describes AP, IB, STEM and arts across district schools. Confirm the specific campus and the courses open to your student.

Plan the school day

Compare your actual housing location, transport, meals and support. A school’s location does not establish a beachside home, a short commute or included sightseeing.

Questions to work through together.

Can international students attend high school in California?

There are F-1 public and private school pathways to explore. Admission depends on the school, grade, academic record, English requirements and available places. Confirm your specific school, program year, housing and full written quote with an advisor.

Is public high school free for an F-1 student?

No. F-1 public high school students must pay the full unsubsidized cost of education. F-1 public high school attendance is limited to 12 months total, including time at other public high schools. Private school rules differ. U.S. authorities decide visa issuance.

Can I choose any campus or course in a district?

A district listing is a starting point. Your particular campus, course prerequisites, available places, activities and student eligibility need confirmation. A district-wide AP or IB offering is not a guarantee of access at every school.

Can I graduate during one year abroad?

A diploma is not automatic. The school must review your transcripts, remaining credits, residency and course requirements, and approve a graduation plan in writing before you rely on it.

What should we confirm about housing and the price?

Review the academic year and term, admission and housing availability, meals, transport, supervision, school breaks, insurance, additional school fees and cancellation terms. Boarding is school- and program-specific. A published program price is not a confirmed place or an all-inclusive travel budget.
